A leading organisation in Derby is seeking an Interim Finance Manager for 9-12 months to support financial reporting, controls, and business performance. This is a great opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys partnering with operational teams, driving process improvements, and influencing key business decisions within a collaborative environment. The role offers flexible working, ongoing development, and requires office presence 4 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

As Interim Finance Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing financial control and reporting across the business. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the month-end close process and internal financial reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, group policies, and statutory requirements
  • Overseeing VAT returns across the UK, Northern Ireland, and Republic of Ireland
  • Maintaining and improving financial controls and governance processes
  • Partnering with operational managers to support performance and cost control initiatives
  • Managing working capital areas including receivables, payables, accruals, and VAT balances
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and data quality
  • Supporting audit requirements and regulatory compliance
  • Acting as a key finance contact across departments, providing commercial and operational support

About You

To succeed in this role, you will ideally be:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Experienced in financial control, reporting, and VAT compliance
  • Confident managing month-end processes and meeting critical deadlines
  • Skilled in analysing financial data and communicating insights clearly
  • Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and departments
  • Experienced within a multi-entity or group environment
  • Proficient with ERP and reporting systems
  • Able to demonstrate process improvement and change management experience
  • A supportive team player with strong organisational and interpersonal skills
