They are seeking an inspiring Head of Business Studies & Economics to lead and grow their popular and successful department.

Business and Economics are thriving subjects across the school, with strong outcomes at GCSE and Post-16. These subjects equip students with valuable real-world skills, supporting progression into further education, employment, and enterprise.

As Head of Department, you will shape a curriculum that turns curiosity into capability and potential into progression.


The Role

You will:

  • Lead the Business & Economics faculty (Years 10-13), driving high-quality teaching and outcomes
  • Develop an ambitious, real-world curriculum linked to employability
  • Increase uptake and success across GCSE and A-Level/Level 3 pathways
  • Coach, mentor, and develop colleagues to build a high-performing team
  • Champion enrichment opportunities such as enterprise activities, trips, and guest speakers
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff
  • Use assessment data effectively to drive continuous improvement


About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for outstanding teaching and learning
  • Can demonstrate strong results in Business and/or Economics
  • QTS – Qualified Teacher Status is essential for this position
  • Has experience supporting or leading colleagues
  • Brings a collaborative, people-focused leadership style
  • Believes every student deserves the opportunity to succeed
