Our client is seeking an experienced Care Secretary to join their growing and highly respected Care team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking organisation where your work will make a genuine difference.
The successful candidate will provide essential support within a busy Care department, helping to deliver excellent client service and assisting with sensitive and important legal matters.
This role would suit a motivated, organised individual with previous legal secretarial experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering a high standard of work.
The Role
As Care Secretary, you will provide key support to Solicitors and the wider team, ensuring the smooth running of cases and maintaining exceptional standards of client care.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing secretarial support to Care Solicitors and the wider team
• Typing and preparing legal documents, court documents, correspondence and file notes
• Managing digital dictation using BigHand
• Preparing Legal Aid applications
• Opening and maintaining files within the case management system
• Handling client calls and responding to enquiries professionally
• Liaising with clients and professionals to arrange meetings and appointments
• Managing incoming emails and post
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
• Preparing bundles and ensuring accurate time recording for billing
• Supporting wider team activities and providing cover where required
About You
The successful candidate will have:
• Previous experience within a Care department in a law firm, or similar relevant experience
• Strong typing and digital dictation skills
• Excellent communication and telephone manner
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise a busy workload effectively
• A proactive approach and ability to use initiative
• A positive attitude and willingness to take on new responsibilities
