Early Years Teaching Assistant (Qualified) - EYFS

Location: TA5 Area (Somerset)
Hours: Full-time / Part-time considered
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a caring and supportive village school in the TA5 area. This is a wonderful opportunity to work within a close-knit school community that values nurturing, creativity, and the development of every child.

The successful candidate will work within the EYFS setting, supporting young learners at a crucial stage of their development, helping to create a safe, engaging, and inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality EYFS provision
• Work with children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assist with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities
• Help create a warm, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
• Support children's social, emotional, and physical development
• Encourage positive behaviour and build strong relationships with pupils

Requirements

• Relevant EYFS / Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or above)
• Experience working within an Early Years setting
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child development
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
