Are you a detail-oriented and motivated Finance/Accounts Assistant looking for your next move? We’re working with a well-established family run local business within a busy commercial environment, offering a fantastic opportunity to join their Accounts team in a varied and hands-on role.

The Role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will support the smooth running of financial operations across multiple areas, including ledgers, reconciliations, and reporting. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of accounting processes within a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing invoices, credit notes, and receipts across sales and purchase ledgers
  • Carrying out credit control activities and credit checks
  • Reconciling purchase ledger payments for approval
  • Managing cash book entries and performing bank reconciliations
  • Supporting costing processes
  • Generating and processing sales ledger invoices and applications for payment
  • Using accounting systems such as Sage (training provided)
About You
  • Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance role
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail with a methodical, logical approach
  • Positive work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines
