Location: Northwich, Cheshire

Job Type: Part-time (Term-time only)

Hours: Morning and afternoon shifts (e.g. 7:30–9:00am and 3:00–6:00pm)

Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Overview

We are looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Breakfast & After School Club Assistant to join our primary school in Northwich. You will help provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children before and after the school day, supporting their wellbeing and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise children during breakfast and after school club sessions
  • Provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment
  • Prepare and serve simple breakfasts and snacks, ensuring food hygiene standards are met
  • Plan and lead a variety of age-appropriate activities (e.g. crafts, games, outdoor play)
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction among pupils
  • Support children’s emotional wellbeing and inclusion
  • Assist with setting up and tidying away equipment and activities
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
  • Liaise with parents/carers during collection times in a professional manner
Skills and Experience
  • Experience working with primary-aged children (preferred)
  • Friendly, patient, and approachable manner
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate children in activities
  • Reliable with a flexible and proactive attitude
Qualifications
  • Level 2 qualification in Childcare, Playwork or equivalent (desirable)
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable, training may be provided)
  • Paediatric First Aid (desirable)
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Compliance Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS check (essential)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
