Salary: Up to £65,000

Role Description

I’m working with a highly respected independent accountancy practice that is looking to appoint an Audit Manager to lead and develop its growing audit function.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced audit professional to manage a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, oversee audit engagements from planning through to completion and play a key role in mentoring and developing the wider audit team. You’ll work closely with Partners while contributing to the continued growth and success of the firm.

What you’ll do

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients across a variety of sectors.
• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion and final review.
• Review audit files, financial statements and working papers to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Act as the key point of contact for clients, maintaining strong professional relationships.
• Support and mentor Audit Seniors, Semi Seniors and trainees.
• Provide technical guidance on UK GAAP, FRS 102 and auditing standards.
• Assist Partners with business development opportunities and new client proposals.
• Ensure assignments are delivered within agreed budgets and deadlines.
• Support internal quality reviews and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

What you’ll need

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• At least 5–6 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Strong technical knowledge of UK audit and accounting standards
• Experience managing statutory audits and leading client relationships
• Proven ability to manage and develop teams
