Commercial Account Executive (Marine Insurance)

IDEX Consulting Ltd

Not only is there a £200k - £250k revenue book to inherit here, this is a rare opportunity for a Commercial Account Executive who would like to specialize in the interesting world of marine insurance.

As you can probably guess, a lot of these clients are along the coasts of the UK, meaning you'll have some amazing drives to look forward to!

You'll service clients including vessel owners and operators, marinas, boat builders, boatyards, terminals and sailing clubs amongst others! Typical marine covers including Hull and Machinery, P&I, Marine Liability and Marine Trade.

This is ideal if you're particularly strong in the commercial combined/package class of business, have an interest in boats and all things marine, plus are a serviced orientated Commercial Account Executive with a track record of developing £25k - £30k of new business per year.

Our client is a well-established, independent Chartered Insurance Broker with a strong reputation across the commercial insurance market. With more than 50 years' experience and offices across the South West and London, they are recognised for delivering specialist, relationship-led advice to a diverse client base.

The business has developed a particularly strong reputation within niche and specialist sectors including marine, property, education, technology and private client insurance, combining technical expertise with a genuinely client-focused approach.

As an independent broker, they pride themselves on providing tailored solutions rather than a transactional service, with long-standing client relationships and excellent staff retention underpinning their continued growth.

What's on offer?

  • A salary in the £50k - £70k range is on offer inluding bonus structure to incentive retention, growth and new business.
  • The business offers a highly supportive and collaborative environment with a strong commitment to employee development, professional qualifications and long-term career progression. Employees benefit from structured training, specialist technical support, wellbeing initiatives and access to private healthcare/wellbeing schemes, alongside the opportunity to work within an award-winning independent brokerage with excellent staff retention and a modern, people-focused culture

A bit about you:

  • You'll bring a track record being a Commercial Account Executive at an Insurance Broker. You'll ideally have dealt with the odd marine client, but as long as you have a strong commercial combined/package insurance background with an interest in specializing in marine, you will be considered
  • You pride yourself on your retention rate and typically renew 95% or more of your clients year on year.
  • Whilst there is a good sized, existing book to inherit, you will be expected to grow your account organically and will need to show a track record of developing at least £25k - £30k of new business per year
  • You can be based anywhere across the country, but there is preference to hire someone in the South West, Wales, South East or Midlands.

This is one of a kind opportunity which does not come up often, if you're intrigued to have a conversation, please submit your CV or express initial interest (No CV required if you do not have one typed up)
