Location: SN4, Swindon

Salary: £40K - £45K

Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Monday to Thursday: & Friday


Responsive Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Operations Coordinator to join a busy and growing business. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and enjoys coordinating production, stock control, and customer relationships.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director and Business Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of operations, ensuring production schedules are effectively managed and customer expectations are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

  • Effectively plan and schedule workloads for the Assembly and Machine Shop departments
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained, including annual leave coordination
  • Plan stock availability to ensure jobs are completed within required timeframes
  • Liaise closely with the Purchasing Coordinator regarding stock and material requirements

Materials & Stock Control

  • Lead and manage monthly stocktakes
  • Manage and order timber and plywood materials
  • Build strong supplier relationships to secure the best quality, availability, and pricing

Customer Service

  • Support and maintain strong customer relationships through professional written and verbal communication
  • Attend customer meetings both on-site and in the office to discuss ongoing and future business opportunities
  • Assist customers with product or service changes to support long-term business development

General Duties

  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety regulations
  • Provide operational cover for the Operations Director, Business Manager, and Yard Operative when required
  • Handle confidential information professionally and in accordance with GDPR regulations
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties required within the scope of the role

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong communication skills with both customers and colleagues
  • Excellent organisational and numeracy skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Capable of multitasking and working effectively under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Self-motivated completer/finisher who takes ownership and accountability
  • Able to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing business needs
  • Forklift licence would be advantageous
