1:1 Teaching Assistant – Ashley Infant School, New Milton (Hampshire) 2nd June to 

An infant school in the New Milton area, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 female pupil with an SEMH, Education, Health and Care Plan

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, working closely with a child who requires additional support with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role

• Providing 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil
• Supporting children with attachment and trauma-related needs
• Helping the pupil to engage with learning and school routines
• Managing and responding to dysregulated behaviour in a calm, consistent manner
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN professionals

Requirements

• Experience supporting children with SEMH needs
• Understanding of attachment and trauma-informed approaches
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
• Strong relationship-building skills and a nurturing approach
• Previous school or specialist support experience is desirable

Contract Details

• Start Date: 2nd June
• Duration: Long-term placement until July
• Working Pattern: 5 days per week
• Location: New Milton, Hampshire
