PCN Appeals Officer – School Streets (Contravention Code 53)

Location: Wembley (Hybrid – 2 days working from home)
Contract: Temporary until at least August
Start Date: Immediate
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Pay Rate:

• £18.65 per hour (PAYE)
• £24.65 per hour (Umbrella)

About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced PCN Appeals Officer to work for a local authority, with a primary focus on School Street representations (Contravention Code 53). This is a hybrid role, combining home working with office-based work in Wembley.

You will be responsible for processing formal representations and appeals, ensuring decisions are accurate, timely, and fully compliant with current parking legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and determine School Street PCN representations (Code 53).
• Assess evidence and make legally sound decisions in line with parking legislation and council policies.
• Draft clear, concise, and legally robust response letters.
• Manage a high-volume caseload while consistently meeting qualitative and quantitative targets.
• Ensure all work is completed within statutory timescales.
• Liaise with internal teams where required to support the appeals process.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

• Strong knowledge of parking legislation.
• Proven experience processing PCN representations and appeals, ideally within a local authority.
• Experience of meeting both quality and productivity targets.
• Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding personal workload with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly in plain English.
• Proven decision-making skills, ensuring all outcomes adhere to current legislation.
