Leisure Assistant

  • Location: Impington and Chesterton
  • Job Type: Permanent, Full time hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

We are working with an educational trust and they are looking for a Leisure Assistant and contribute to their mission of providing a safe, high-quality service to our customers. This role involves lifeguarding, maintaining facility cleanliness, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all users.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Customer Service: Maintain a positive, helpful, and friendly attitude, addressing customer queries, complaints, or concerns effectively.
  • Facility Safety & Cleanliness: Ensure all facilities are clean, safe, and adequately equipped, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Fault Reporting: Report any equipment or facility issues to the Duty Manager promptly.
  • Health & Safety: Oversee the health, safety, and welfare of all facility users, ensuring compliance with the Centre’s Safety Policy.
  • Swimming Pool Safety: Provide vigilant supervision of pool activities, ensuring adherence to safety standards and responding swiftly to emergencies.
  • Emergency Response: Act effectively in emergencies following the site's procedures and support the First Aider as needed.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with clerical tasks to support facility operations.
  • Communication & Promotion: Help in promoting the Centre’s services and ensuring all provided information is accurate.
  • Facility Inspections & Cleaning: Perform regular inspections and cleaning duties as per schedule or as required.
  • Equipment Setup: Prepare and dismantle equipment for activities or events.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to varying work hours as needed to support the service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • National Pool Plant Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent - preferable. 
  • Knowledge of Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) guidelines - preferable. 
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and maintain fitness levels.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
