Finance Manager- Skipton- Up to 50k

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of a busy finance function within a dynamic and growing organisation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being both hands-on and strategic, with the confidence to lead a small team while maintaining high standards across all financial operations.

You’ll oversee the full finance cycle, ensure accurate reporting, support commercial decision-making, and help drive the business forward. This is a fully office-based role located in Skipton, with a salary starting from £40,000, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilties

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations and lead a small finance team
• Manage accounting processes, including month-end and year-end duties
• Handle payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Oversee sales and purchase ledgers, including credit control and supplier payments
• Prepare and review VAT returns
• Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Produce accurate profit & loss reports, management accounts, and financial forecasts
• Deliver project reporting and support commercial decision-making
• Lead weekly finance meetings and provide clear financial insights
• Maintain strong control over creditors and debtors
• Support operational teams with financial queries and reporting needs
• Occasional UK and overseas travel may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or similar role
• Strong working knowledge of Sage 200 (essential)
• Confident managing and developing a small finance team
• Excellent understanding of P&L, forecasting, VAT, ledgers, and reconciliations
• Highly organised, accurate, and able to prioritise effectively
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to support business decisions
• Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and adapting to changing needs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
