Description

Payroll Assistant

    • Support the accurate and timely processing of payroll data, ensuring records are maintained in line with statutory requirements.
    • Assist with reconciliations, variance checks, month-end processes, and the preparation of routine payroll reports for review and sign-off.
    • Maintain statutory payroll records and support compliance checks, including National Minimum Wage and other regulatory requirements.
    • Support the administration of pensions and statutory leave and payments, ensuring accurate records and timely submissions.
    • Respond to payroll queries, provide payroll information to colleagues and managers, and escalate issues where appropriate.
    • Provide basic system support to ensure payroll-related data is entered accurately.
    • Assist the Payroll Manager and other team members with ad-hoc tasks and projects, contributing to continuous improvement of payroll processes.


Profile

A successful Payroll Assistant should have:

  • Previous experience in payroll processing
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll data
  • Knowledge of relevant payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset.

Job Offer

Payroll Assistant (Interim)

  • Immediate start, full time, hybrid working position
  • Theale office location - easily accessible via public transport as well as free parking on site
  • Pay: hourly c. £15-19 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
  • Duration: c. 6-7 weeks dependent on start, minimum until the end of May 2026
  • Interviewing immediately
