Acting for generations of families, we place client service and quality of work above volume, offering a refreshing alternative to high-pressure environments. With a collaborative, close-knit team and no private equity backing, we maintain a traditional yet forward-thinking ethos where reputation truly matters.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Residential Conveyancer to join our highly regarded property team, with a clear progression pathway to Head of Department within 2 years as part of a planned retirement succession. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is either qualified or working towards qualification, is looking to secure a training contract in the future where applicable, and wants long-term progression in a stable, supportive firm. You will take over an existing caseload and handle files from instruction through to post-completion and registration.
The Team
You will be joining a supportive and experienced department which includes the current Head of Department who is retiring within 2 years, an NQ Solicitor with a mixed caseload, an unqualified fee earner progressing toward Licensed Conveyancer qualification, and a conveyancing assistant handling administrative support. The firm actively mentors and trains junior members, fostering long-term development.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a full residential conveyancing caseload independently. Handle transactions from instruction through to completion and registration. Deliver exceptional client service and maintain the firm’s strong reputation. Work collaboratively with colleagues in a supportive team environment.
About You
You will have experience handling residential conveyancing matters end-to-end, strong client care skills and attention to detail, and be a team player with a positive, easy-going approach. You will be passionate about delivering quality work and looking for a long-term role with progression potential. No egos or office politics, just a genuinely supportive team.
Salary and Benefits
Salary circa £45,000, flexible depending on experience. Bonus scheme with a target of three times salary and 10 percent bonus on any excess. Additional bonuses paid at Christmas and year-end. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. Office closure over Christmas with 3.5 days allocated. Paid parking at the multistorey opposite the office. Regular team socials and lunches.
