An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead a critical Infrastructure Intelligence programme within a large organisation.


We are looking for a proven procurement professional who is immediately effective at senior level, comfortable operating in technically and commercially complex environments, and able to balance hands-on delivery with strategic oversight.

Description


Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a circa £1.5bn tender, currently in dialogue phase, requiring strong commercial judgement and experience beyond simple or transactional procurement structures.
  • Managing and delivering a broader pipeline of sourcing demand across the programme, ensuring pace, quality and compliance with organisational policies and processes.
  • Leading a core team of three direct reports, alongside a wider virtual team contributing to programme-related procurements.
  • Engaging and influencing at the most senior levels, including Executive Committee members and Functional Directors, providing clear advice and challenge where needed.
  • Maintaining a strategic, end-to-end view of the sourcing pipeline while also being prepared to "roll sleeves up" and intervene directly where required.
  • Identifying, coordinating and delivering dependent or enabling sourcing activities that sit outside the immediate programme scope but are critical to its success.


Profile

A successful Interim Strategic Sourcing Manager should have:

    • A highly experienced strategic procurement professional, with a strong track record of operating at scale and pace within regulated or complex environments.
    • Public sector experience or working in highly regulated enviroments such as Rail or Utilities.
    • Commercially astute, confident managing large-value, multi-lot or dialogue-based procurements.
    • Comfortable leading teams, setting direction, and holding others to account.
    • Credible and confident with senior stakeholders, able to navigate challenge and make robust, defensible decisions.
    • Able to hit the ground running with minimal support.


Job Offer

  • Daily rate of between £650 - £700 per day.
  • Based in Milton Keynes - Hybrid working pattern
  • Temporary role offering flexibility and a defined project focus.
  • Based in Milton Keynes with potential for hybrid working arrangements.
