We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join our client’s engineering team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional strong mechanical maintenance experience in assembling, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in line with production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and machinery according to technical drawings and specifications
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on mechanical equipment
• Perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals
• Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and production staff
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship (preferred)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
