The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will provide firm-wide oversight of paraplanning operations, working closely with Heads of Function, Compliance, Data, and regional Pod Leaders. You will act as a key escalation point, driving consistency, managing risk, and developing high-performing teams across locations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Operating Model

  • Own and evolve the firm-wide paraplanning operating model
  • Provide senior leadership and direction to regional Pod Leaders
  • Act as the escalation point for complex paraplanning matters
  • Lead teams both remotely and in person

Performance Management & Oversight

  • Develop and manage paraplanning KPIs and MI using CRM systems
  • Monitor capacity, efficiency, turnaround times, and risk indicators
  • Deliver insightful reporting to senior stakeholders

Technical & Regulatory Governance

  • Provide senior-level technical oversight across paraplanning
  • Manage high-risk advice areas and complex cases
  • Ensure templates, processes, and guidance remain compliant and up to date
  • Maintain strong regulatory and risk management standards

People Leadership & Development

  • Coach, mentor, and appraise senior team members and team leaders
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and ongoing technical development
  • Support succession planning and long-term capability building

Change & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead process improvement and change initiatives
  • Support implementation of regulatory and legislative changes
  • Drive consistency, scalability, and best practice across regions

Risk & Escalation Management

  • Handle senior escalations, quality issues, and potential complaints
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risk appropriately
Skills & Experience
  • Extensive paraplanning experience
  • Minimum of 10 years’ team management experience
  • Strong senior stakeholder and leadership capability
  • Data-driven approach to performance and decision-making
  • Ability to undertake complex cases when required
Qualifications
  • Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (RO1–RO6) – essential
  • Chartered status – desirable
