The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a high-performing Group Finance team. This role is based within a central head office function and plays a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting while providing commercial support to senior stakeholders.

You will support the Finance Manager in producing management accounts, ensuring strong financial control, and partnering closely with non-finance teams to improve understanding of financial performance and cost management.

Duties
Financial Reporting & Control

• Prepare and post month-end and period-end journals
• Deliver timely and accurate monthly management reporting and cost analysis
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including fixed assets, accruals, prepayments and intercompany balances
• Support capital expenditure accounting and challenge where appropriate
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and statutory questionnaires
• Assist with audits and the preparation of statutory accounts

Business Partnering

• Act as a finance business partner to head office functions
• Produce departmental cost reports with insightful commentary
• Support budget preparation and forecasting processes
• Provide challenge and guidance to stakeholders on financial performance and spend

Additional Responsibilities

• Provide cover and support to the Finance Manager
• Support purchase ledger and expenses processes where required
• Assist with intercompany transactions and recharges
• Potential opportunity to line manage an Assistant Accountant

The Person

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
• Confident communicator, able to build relationships across the business
• Proactive, analytical and solutions-focused approach
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems is advantageous
