About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Secondary History Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in the Maghull area. We are looking for a teacher who is reliable and enthusiastic with a dedication to inspire and motivate students.

Secondary History Teacher

Location: Maghull, L31

Start Date: May 2026

Contract Type: Temporary, long term

Working Hours: Full-time, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Pay: Paid to scale

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and Deliver Lessons: Create engaging and comprehensive lessons that align with the curriculum and cater to various learning styles.
• Assessment: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding.
• Encourage Participation: Promote active engagement and participation among students.
• Resource Management: Select and utilise appropriate textbooks, resources, and materials.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and improve teaching strategies.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
• Provide at least two professional references covering at least 24 months/cover the last 2 years
