Rental Sales Engineer

A rapidly growing and highly respected industrial services business is seeking a Rental Sales Engineer to join their team covering the northern regions of Ireland. This business has established itself as a market leader in the hire and supply of industrial temperature control solutions and associated equipment, with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and long-standing client relationships.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in expanding the client base, increasing sales, and delivering innovative hire solutions across Cooling, Cold Stores, Boilers, and Heaters. While previous experience in Heating hire is preferred, candidates with a diverse rental sales background who are motivated to learn Cooling and Cold Store solutions will be strongly considered.

Your Role and Responsibilities:
While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for hire contracts across Ireland
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, regularly updating the CRM system.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and potential growth areas.
  • Work alongside sales managers to create business plans and achieve targets.
  • Support the sales team with credit management, quotations, and month-end sales forecasts.
  • Provide expert guidance on hire solutions, including Boilers, Heaters, and eventually Cooling and Cold Store equipment.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine customer requirements and propose tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to design and customize solutions for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) and QHSE standards.
  • Develop strong, trusted relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups to maintain customer satisfaction and explore additional opportunities.
  • Provide after-sales support, troubleshooting advice, and coordination with technical teams.
  • Prepare sales reports, pipeline updates, and performance metrics.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity to optimize sales strategies.
  • Comply with company policies, ethical frameworks, and QHSE initiatives.
  • Take ownership of personal development and learning pathways to enhance performance.
What You Will Need to Apply:
  • Previous experience in rental sales, preferably within Heating hire (Boilers/Heaters) or a diverse industrial hire background.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a customer-focused environment.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and commercially aware.
  • Willingness to travel across the region, including overnight stays.
  • Valid driver’s license and right to work in Ireland
  • Engineering qualification or applied experience is advantageous but not essential.
