We’re looking for a confident and detail-driven Air Export Coordinator to join a busy freight forwarding operation. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take responsibility for managing export shipments from initial booking through to departure, ensuring everything runs smoothly, compliantly, and on schedule.

You’ll be joining a collaborative team where no two days are the same, and your ability to stay organised and communicate effectively will be key to success.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Taking ownership of air export shipments, overseeing the full process from booking through to uplift
• Coordinating collections and working closely with transport providers, airlines, and warehouse teams
• Monitoring shipment progress and stepping in quickly to resolve any issues or delays
• Producing accurate export documentation such as MAWBs, HAWBs, and commercial paperwork
• Ensuring all shipments comply with HMRC regulations, export controls, and agreed Incoterms
• Completing export declarations (experience with Boxtop or Sequoia is advantageous)
• Acting as a key contact for customers and overseas agents, keeping all parties informed
• Building strong working relationships with carriers and service partners
• Managing job costing, checking supplier invoices, and supporting overall shipment profitability
• Closing files accurately and maintaining audit-ready records

Key Skills

• Previous experience within air freight exports or freight forwarding (around 2+ years preferred)
• A solid understanding of export procedures and customs requirements
• Familiarity with Incoterms and industry compliance standards
• Knowledge of dangerous goods handling (IATA/ADR) would be beneficial
• A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple shipments at once
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
• High attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure

• 5-year verifiable employment history (required for aviation security)
• Cargo Operative or air cargo security training is advantageous
