Our client a leading educational organisation in Birmingham is seeking a proactive and technically strong Trust Accountant - 12 Month Contract to join its central finance team.
Our client is a large, high performing Multi Academy Trust with a strong track record, operating from dedicated offices in Birmingham.
As Trust Accountant reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support and lead on key financial accounting processes, including:
Acting as the primary contact for external auditors and managing audit queries
Ensuring robust balance sheet controls, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Cash and treasury management, including BACS checks and faster payments
Preparing quarterly VAT returns and managing HMRC relationships
Overseeing accounting for investment portfolios, property assets, special funds and endowments
Maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
The most desirable Trust Accountant applicant will have:
Experience in education, charity or a not-for-profit setting
Staff management experience
Understanding of property / investment accounting (highly desirable)
Experience with PS Financials (highly desirable)
Circa £40,000 + Up to 12% matched pension + Hybrid working - 3 days per week in the Birmingham office
