About Us

We are a well-established and friendly law firm based in Leeds, specialising in family law. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an organised and proactive Legal Assistant / Secretary to support our busy Family Law team.


The Role

You will provide essential administrative and secretarial support to fee earners, assisting with a wide range of family law matters including divorce, child arrangements, and financial settlements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Audio typing and preparation of legal documents and correspondence
  • Managing diaries, appointments, and meetings
  • Liaising with clients in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Opening and closing client files, maintaining accurate records
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries
  • Supporting solicitors with case management tasks
  • General administrative duties as required

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a legal assistant or secretary (family law experience preferred)
  • Strong audio typing and IT skills (including MS Word and case management systems)
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality
