An excellent opportunity for an Audit Senior to take ownership of audits for a diverse portfolio of mid-market and large clients, including UK divisions of multinational groups. The role offers significant client exposure, leadership responsibility and a clear platform for progression within a growing audit practice.

Client Details

Our client is a rapidly expanding, UK-based accountancy and advisory firm operating at the top end of the mid-tier market. With a strong audit and assurance offering, they support ambitious owner-managed businesses, SMEs and larger corporate groups, providing broad exposure to complex and high-quality audit work without the constraints often found in larger firms.


Description

  • Lead audit assignments from planning through to manager review, taking responsibility for all audit fieldwork.
  • Work on a varied portfolio of audit clients, including groups with turnovers up to £130m and consolidation work.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong and trusted relationships with business owners and finance teams.
  • Prepare audit deliverables, including audit findings reports, and ensure files are complete for review.
  • Plan assignments, manage budgets and apply analytical review techniques.
  • Supervise, delegate to and review the work of junior team members, supporting their ongoing development.
  • Prepare statutory accounts under UK GAAP, including FRS 102, FRS 102 1A and IFRS where applicable.
  • Identify and resolve technical audit and accounting issues, maintaining up-to-date regulatory knowledge.
  • Attend stock counts and collaborate with other service lines to add value to clients and identify opportunities.


Profile

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • At least 3 years' audit experience within a UK practice environment.
  • Strong technical grounding in UK GAAP, ISAs and UK company law.
  • Experience working with owner-managed businesses and larger corporate or group audits.
  • Confident leading audits and supervising junior team members.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build credibility with clients.
  • Well organised, commercially aware and motivated to progress into a more senior role.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to regular client site visits.


Job Offer

  • Salary circa £45,000 depending on experience
