A well-established professional services firm in Luton is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing tax team. This Tax Manager opportunity offers exposure to a varied portfolio of private and corporate clients, including high-net-worth individuals, owner-managed businesses, and entrepreneurial groups.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both compliance and advisory services across personal and corporate taxation. The role includes identifying tax planning opportunities, advising on complex tax matters, and managing HMRC-related correspondence and investigations.

This Luton-based Tax Manager position offers a salary of £50,000 - £65,000, alongside strong progression opportunities and exposure to technically interesting work.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic tax planning support for both personal and corporate tax clients
• Advise on areas including capital gains tax, inheritance tax planning, and restructuring projects
• Oversee HMRC compliance processes and ensure all filings meet statutory deadlines
• Manage tax risk through detailed review procedures
• Handle HMRC enquiries and technical correspondence
• Manage a mixed portfolio covering self-assessment, wealth management, corporation tax, R&D tax credits, group relief, and capital allowances
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while providing proactive tax advice
• Review work prepared by junior team members and provide ongoing mentorship
• Support wider business development initiatives and identify opportunities to expand client services

Requirements

• CTA qualified or equivalent experience preferred
• Strong experience across both Personal Tax and Corporation Tax
• Proven background in HMRC compliance and tax planning
• Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and complex client portfolios
• Strong communication and client management skills
