Role overview
An established UK-based specialist contractor is seeking a Bid & Compliance Lead to take ownership of the company’s compliance framework and bid coordination activities.
This is a hands-on role responsible for managing the Integrated Management System (IMS), maintaining audit readiness, and coordinating compliant, evidence-based tender submissions across public and private sector clients. The role works closely with operational teams and senior management to ensure systems, processes and documentation remain current, robust and effective.
Key responsibilities
Bids & Frameworks
Monitor tender portals and identify relevant public and private sector opportunities
Coordinate bid and framework submissions, including managing timelines, clarifications and portal uploads
Draft, tailor and quality-check written tender responses against client requirements and scoring criteria
Coordinate technical and evidential inputs from internal departments and senior management
Maintain bid libraries including standard responses, CVs, case studies and project evidence
Track framework renewals and upcoming tender opportunities
Record bid outcomes, feedback and lessons learned to support continuous improvement
Compliance & Management Systems
Own and maintain the company’s Integrated Management System, including:
ISO 9001 (Quality)
ISO 14001 (Environmental)
ISO 45001 (Health & Safety)
Coordinate internal audits and manage corrective actions to completion
Prepare evidence packs for external audits, accreditations and certification renewals
Support and coordinate management review meetings, including reporting and actions
Manage non-conformances, incidents and improvement actions, ensuring issues are investigated and closed out
Maintain compliance documentation including training records, licences, insurances and statutory records
Support environmental and waste compliance, including duty of care and sustainability evidence
Ensure controlled documents remain current, approved and communicated
Experience and skills
Previous experience in a Bid, Compliance, Quality, IMS or Governance role
Practical working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (lead or internal auditor experience desirable)
Experience coordinating or contributing to technical, evidence-led tender submissions
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Confident working across departments to obtain information and evidence
Clear written communication skills with attention to detail
Comfortable operating at both operational and management level
