Position: Project Coordinator 

Type: 1 year temp until end of April 2027 

Pay: £30,000- £35,000

Hours: Mon-Fri 37 hours per week 

Location: Melksham SN12 

Start date: ASAP 

We are seeking a Temporary Project Coordinator to support the successful delivery of customer projects. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of customer purchase orders, delivery schedules, sales orders, quotations, order acknowledgements, quality notifications, and invoicing. You will play a key role in maintaining order books, producing reports, and supporting Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered to customer and business commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with internal departments including Purchasing, Sales, Production, Logistics and Engineering to resolve delivery and order-related issues.
  • Communicate regularly with customers via telephone and email regarding orders, deliveries, invoices, and project updates.
  • Maintain accurate order book information within SAP in line with customer requirements and internal commitments.
  • Prepare and generate internal and external project and performance reports.
  • Attend internal, customer, and weekly outstanding issue meetings; occasional support at customer-facing meetings may be required.
  • Proactively identify risks to on-time delivery and escalate issues through appropriate management channels.
  • Respond within agreed timescales to customer requests, delivery confirmations, expedite requests, and invoice queries.
  • Maintain up-to-date project information within internal collaboration systems.
  • Support Project Managers in the coordination and delivery of projects.
  • Opportunity to develop within the role and take on Project Management responsibilities over time.

Skills & Experience Required

  • GCSE / O-Level standard education.
  • Strong customer communication experience via email, phone calls, and meetings.
  • Experience building rapport with repeat customer contacts.
  • Previous use of ERP systems (ideally SAP) for order management, scheduling, quoting, purchasing, expediting, or invoicing.
  • Strong organisational, time management, prioritisation, and administrative skills.
  • Customer service or project support experience with an understanding of order processing, purchasing, sales, or account management.
  • Manufacturing or project delivery environment experience is desirable.
  • Experience using escalation routes when service or delivery commitments are at risk.

  • Numerate and confident handling data.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities.

  • Achievement of departmental KPIs.
  • Delivery against agreed customer performance KPIs for projects.
