Are you a Trainee Solicitor due to qualify this September? Are you looking to develop your career within patent litigation and work alongside some of the leading practitioners in the field?

A highly regarded and well-established legal firm is seeking to recruit a Newly Qualified Associate into its market-leading patent litigation team. The firm is recognised for its technical excellence, high-profile client base and collaborative culture, offering exposure to complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes across a range of sectors including life sciences and technology.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a trainee approaching qualification to join a top-tier litigation practice and build a long-term career in patent disputes.

You will gain hands-on experience from day one, working closely with experienced Partners and Senior Associates on cutting-edge matters, with clear support and structured development to help them progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting on a broad range of patent litigation matters, including High Court proceedings and cross-border disputes
  • Supporting case strategy, legal research and drafting of pleadings and correspondence
  • Liaising with clients, experts and counsel on complex technical and legal issues
  • Managing document review and disclosure processes
  • Attending court hearings, trials and client meetings
  • Contributing to business development initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team

Requirements:

  • Trainee Solicitor due to qualify in September (or recently qualified)
  • Strong academic background, ideally with a science or technical degree (preferred but not essential)
  • A demonstrable interest in intellectual property and patent litigation
  • Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a genuine interest in developing a career in patent disputes
