Interim Financial Reporting Manager
Hybrid (East Midlands – 2 days on-site)
Day Rate: £400 to £420 per day, Umbrella

Distinct is currently supporting a large, complex organisation in recruiting an Interim Financial Reporting Manager to strengthen its financial control function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an immediately available professional, or someone on a short notice period, with a strong technical accounting background. You will step into a high-impact role, taking ownership of both internal and external reporting, while also supporting technical accounting and audit requirements. A key focus of the role will be IFRS 16, so prior experience managing and working with lease accounting schedules is essential.

The Role

Reporting into the senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of the financial reporting cycle and provide critical insight to support business performance and decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering accurate and timely monthly management reporting and performance insights
• Preparing quarterly and annual financial reports for key stakeholders
• Supporting both internal and external reporting requirements
• Providing technical accounting guidance across the finance function
• Leading balance sheet control, including reconciliations and compliance
• Supporting audit processes and ensuring readiness across reporting cycles
• Conducting ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decisions
• Leading a team of three

About you

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented finance professional with strong technical capability and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

You will bring:

• Proven experience in financial reporting and financial control
• IFRS16 is essential
• Strong understanding of technical accounting and reporting standards
• Experience managing or supporting audit processes
• A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders
• Able to quickly get up to speed and make an immediate impact
