Head of Finance Systems

Reed Finance is recruiting on behalf of our large, rapidly growing and industry-leading client for a Head of Finance Systems. This pivotal role involves managing, maintaining and optimising financial systems, leading the implementation of new systems and ensuring seamless integrations to optimise financial processes.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • System Maintenance & Optimisation: Manage and maintain financial systems to ensure they are up-to-date and fully operational. Identify opportunities to optimise system performance and automate financial processes to improve efficiency.
  • Financial System Implementation: Lead or support the implementation of new financial systems or system upgrades. Collaborate closely with IT and finance teams to ensure smooth transitions and integration with existing processes.
  • User Training & Support: Provide training and support to finance team members on effective use of financial systems. Act as the primary point of contact for system-related issues, troubleshooting, and resolving problems as they arise.
  • Financial Reporting Support: Ensure financial systems support accurate and timely financial reporting. Assist in the design and development of financial reports and dashboards that meet the needs of the finance team and senior management.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial processes through system enhancements. Collaborate with finance and operational teams to streamline workflows, enhance data accuracy, and reduce manual tasks.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaise with IT, finance, and other departments to ensure that the financial systems align with business needs and support the organisation’s goals. Provide insights and recommendations on how systems can improve overall financial performance.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure that financial systems comply with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on best practices in system management and ensure they are incorporated into the company’s processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Extensive experience in driving business change and improvement, notably around finance system transformation.
  • Strong interpersonal skill and an ability to develop/drive a continuous improvement mindset across the teams you work with.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and ERP systems (ideally Microsoft based).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
