Role Overview

This role offers a direct opportunity to shape cloud efficiency strategies within one of the UK's most respected digital consultancies. Acting as a FinOps Specialist, you'll advise senior stakeholders, influence architecture decisions, and embed cost-optimisation practices across multi-disciplinary AWS environments supporting national security and defence clients.

This is a hands-on, strategic role for an AWS FinOps professional seeking impact at scale, combining advisory influence with practical delivery.

Their security and intelligence division continues to grow rapidly, partnering with government and national agencies to design, migrate, and optimise large-scale cloud capabilities underpinned by AWS. You'll join a high-profile, collaborative team operating at the forefront of national security innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a subject-matter expert in AWS cost optimisation and FinOps governance for major national security programmes.
  • Develop and implement FinOps strategies aligned with business and architecture objectives.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure solutions are designed for cost efficiency from inception.
  • Build data-driven business cases for optimisation, identifying waste, potential savings, and value opportunities.
  • Advise senior customers and internal leaders on best practice, influencing culture and adoption of FinOps principles.
  • Support internal capability development by shaping service offerings and mentoring technical teams.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience applying FinOps principles to large-scale AWS environments.
  • Strong understanding of AWS cost structures, pricing models, tagging, and billing analytics.
  • Demonstrable experience influencing architecture and delivery to drive measurable cost efficiencies.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to communicate financial, technical, and strategic value clearly.
  • Previous exposure to secure government or regulated environments is beneficial but not essential.
Package and Conditions
  • Base salary: £70,000 - £90,000 (DOE)
  • £7,000 per annum tax-free once DV clearance is granted (equivalent to ~£10,000 on base)
  • Up to a 10% company and individual performance bonus

  • Hybrid model: average three days per week on site (London, Leeds, or Manchester)
