POST Recruitment is working with a well-established building consultancy based in central Leeds to recruit an Accounts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within finance, supporting a busy accounts team with a variety of day-to-day financial tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain new customer and supplier accounts
  • Assess and approve new credit applications, including regular review of credit limits
  • Process sales and purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Manage supplier payments and customer receipts
  • Handle and process employee expenses
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations
  • Support weekly payroll processing (full training provided)
  • Maintain financial records and spreadsheets
  • Assist with month-end and year-end reporting

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation and time management abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in a similar accounts role
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
