Interim Procurement Officer

Local Authority | 3–6 Month Contract

Macildowie Public Sector team is supporting a Local Authority in sourcing an experienced Interim Procurement Officer to provide short-term cover during a period of increased workload.

This is an initial 3–6 month temporary assignment for a confident procurement professional who can work independently and manage a broad range of public-sector procurement activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver end-to-end procurement support across goods, services, concessions and works
  • Manage open quotations and tenders, framework direct awards, and mini-competitions
  • Ensure strict compliance with public-sector PA23 regulations and Contract Procedure Rules
  • Act as a “critical friend” by constructively challenging and refining specifications
  • Provide clear advice to stakeholders in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment

(No anticipated requirement for Light Touch Regime procurements)

About You
  • Strong public-sector procurement experience, ideally within a local authority
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running
  • Highly organised with a careful, methodical (“belt and braces”) approach
  • Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder-management skills
