Newstaff Employment Services is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Estimator (Construction) to join our dynamic team.
This role is perfect for an ambitious individual seeking to start their career in estimating and construction management. As a Junior Estimator, you will assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, helping to guide decision-making and project planning.
You will work closely with senior estimators and project managers, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the field. You will be trained to analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates on time.
Responsibilities - Review project drawings and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Assist in compiling and analysing data to estimate the time, money, materials, and labour required for construction projects.
- Support senior estimators in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and price analysis.
- Participate in meetings with vendors and subcontractors to gather quotes and information.
- Maintain an organized database of estimates and project costs.
- Learn to utilise estimating software and tools effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong numerical skills and an eagerness to develop estimating abilities.
- Good understanding of construction methods and processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with estimating software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the construction industry.
- Some construction experience or internships will be advantageous.

Salary: £28,000 pa to £35,000 pa (negotiable depending on experience)
