We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Sales Engineer to drive the growth of energy efficiency solutions across the UK & Ireland. This role is ideal for a Technical Sales Engineer with strong electrical or industrial systems knowledge who can combine technical expertise with commercial acumen.


As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will work closely with consultants, end-users, and internal teams to promote and secure the specification of energy efficiency systems. You will play a key role in delivering technical presentations, supporting tenders, and enabling customers to adopt innovative energy efficiency solutions.


Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
  • Develop and secure specifications for energy efficiency systems with consultants and end-users
  • Prepare and deliver technical and commercial quotations as a Technical Sales Engineer
  • Respond to complex customer enquiries, providing expert guidance on energy efficiency solutions
  • Support the achievement of sales targets and business growth objectives
Technical Support
  • Provide technical expertise on electrical and energy efficiency systems
  • Analyse specifications and collaborate with engineering teams
  • Support regional sales teams with technical input and solution design
Market Development & Strategy
  • Provide market feedback on pricing, competitors, and energy efficiency trends
  • Support the development of new energy efficiency products and solutions
  • Contribute to technical documentation and product positioning
Customer Engagement & Events
  • Deliver CPD sessions, presentations, and technical workshops as a Technical Sales Engineer
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
  • Build strong relationships with consultants, contractors, and end-users
Reporting & Coordination
  • Produce forecasts, activity reports, and sales updates
  • Share market intelligence with internal stakeholders
  • Act as a key liaison between UK sales teams and central business units
Customer Value & Audits
  • Conduct customer audits to identify energy efficiency improvements
  • Demonstrate financial and operational benefits of energy monitoring solutions
  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities through data-driven insights


Key RequirementsExperience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Technical Sales Engineer or in technical solution sales
  • Background in energy efficiency, energy management, or electrical systems preferred
  • Experience working with consultants, contractors, or industrial customers
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and industrial networks
  • Understanding of automation systems, SCADA, or energy monitoring solutions
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Professional Skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to support pricing and quotations
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently as a Technical Sales Engineer while collaborating with teams
