MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant on a 3-month assignment for a well-established manufacturing company based in the Stowmarket area. The role will support commercial and operational finance activities, with a strong focus on data analysis, reporting and margin review to support decision-making across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Pull data from finance and operational systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy
• Analyse and reconcile data prior to reporting, ensuring figures align with finance records
• Prepare and distribute regular reports for internal stakeholders
• Perform detailed Excel analysis, including lookups, reconciliations and variance analysis
• Investigate unexpected results or variances and follow through to resolution
• Complete transactional processing to support accurate reporting and analysis
• Support business partnering activity across commercial, operations and project accounting teams
• Produce freight, customer and margin analysis to support commercial decision-making
• Assist with margin investigations and performance monitoring
• Act as a point of finance support for data and reporting queries
• Contribute to ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests as required

Qualification and Experience

• AAT qualified or equivalent experience in a finance or analytical role
• Strong experience working with large datasets and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and data analysis
• Experience pulling, analysing and validating financial or operational data
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate issues independently
• Experience supporting commercial or operational teams with financial insight
• High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and self-review
• Good communication skills, able to explain financial information clearly
• Experience working with accounting systems
• A proactive, organised and collaborative approach
