About the Role
We are recruiting for a Print Room Officer to support a Local Authority’s reprographics and internal mail service. This is a temporary role covering an absence, offering an opportunity to work with modern, state-of-the-art digital print equipment in a busy and professional environment.
Working reduced hours with flexibility (e.g. 9:30am – 3:30pm), this role is ideal for someone who is organised, hands-on, and able to prioritise workload effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Print Production & Finishing
- Deliver high-quality digital print and photocopying services (colour/mono, single/double sided)
- Produce finished materials including booklets, bound documents, laminated items, certificates and prospectuses
- Carry out finishing tasks such as binding, laminating, trimming, stapling and booklet making
Document Processing & Mail
- Scan and process digital files and correspondence
- Prepare and format files for print production
- Process outgoing mail via folder/inserter machines for distribution
- Support internal post room operations when required
Workflow & Organisation
- Manage and prioritise multiple print jobs, including urgent requests
- Maintain accurate records of print jobs and usage
- Work efficiently across digital submission systems and shared inboxes
Equipment & Stock Management
- Operate reprographics equipment including high-speed printers, laminators, binders and guillotines
- Carry out basic maintenance and report faults to service engineers
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of paper, toner, and consumables
Customer Support
- Provide support and advice to internal staff on print and finishing requirements
- Liaise with internal teams including Communications for external print work
- Package finished materials ready for distribution
Compliance & Safety
- Handle sensitive documents securely in line with GDPR
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
About You
- Experience in digital reprographics/print room is desirable but not essential
- Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable learning new systems and equipment quickly
- Reliable, proactive and team-focused
