Lettings Officer

Are you an experienced Lettings Officer looking for your next contract within a busy local authority?

Royal Greenwich Council is looking for a proactive and organised individual to support the day-to-day running of their Choice Based Lettings service.

The Role

You’ll play a key part in managing the allocation of council and housing association properties, ensuring the process is efficient, fair, and compliant with housing legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the letting and pre-letting of council and housing association properties
• Handling nominations to Housing Associations and Special Schemes
• Supporting and maintaining the Choice Based Lettings system
• Responding to enquiries, including councillor casework and internal stakeholders
• Preparing reports and supporting case reviews and appeals processes
• Deputising for the Senior Lettings Officer when required
• Supervising Lettings Assistants where needed

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a local authority lettings or housing allocations role
• Strong understanding of Choice Based Lettings systems
• Experience working with housing associations and nomination processes
• Ability to manage caseloads and respond to enquiries in a timely manner
• Confident communicator, both written and verbal
• Organised, accurate, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
