SEN / SEMH 1:1 Support – BD4 (Highly Challenging Pupil)

Location: BD4
Role: 1:1 SEN / SEMH Support
Start: ASAP
Contract: Full-time

This one’s not for the faint-hearted, but it is for the right person.

We’re supporting a school in BD4 looking for a resilient, compassionate TA to work 1:1 with a pupil who needs consistent, specialist support. Behaviour can be challenging, so they need someone calm under pressure, confident in their approach, and big on patience.

If you’ve worked in SEMH, PRU, or similar settings, you’ll know the kind of impact you can make here.

Your day-to-day:

  • Providing 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s needs
  • Using de-escalation techniques to manage behaviour
  • Creating a safe, structured environment
  • Working closely with staff to keep things consistent

You’ll need:

  • Experience with SEMH or challenging behaviour
  • A calm, firm but fair approach
  • Strong emotional resilience
  • The ability to build trust over time

What’s in it for you:

  • Weekly PAYE pay
  • Ongoing training, including behaviour and SEND support
  • A consultant who’s got your back
  • A role where your impact is genuinely life-changing

This isn’t an easy role, but it’s one that matters. Big time.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
