JHE & Partners are working exclusively with a very successful and growing business in Brighouse as they look to recruit a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team.

The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager, assist with financial reporting and contribute to the optimisation of financial processes. A strong understanding of financial principles, excellent organisational skills, and proficiency in relevant software are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with organisational policies and regulations
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Contribute to the preparation of cash flow forecasts and financial projections
• Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information
• Bank reconciliations
• Support with day to day transactional accounts during busy periods including purchase and sales ledger

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field (e.g., AAT, ACCA/CIMA part-qualified) or equivalent experience
• Understanding of management accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks)
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work output
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Prior experience in a similar role is essential
