Finance and Business Operations Manager

Reed is partnering with a large, forward thinking not for profit organisation in the North East to recruit a Finance and Business Operations Manager to join its central support team.

The role would suit candidates with experience in management accounting, budget support, and financial controls, particularly those who enjoy working with multiple stakeholders.

The Role

Reporting to a senior finance lead, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality finance service across several operational sites. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting year-end processes
  • Supporting budget holders with budget setting, forecasting and financial monitoring
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations including bank and supplier accounts
  • Supporting financial controls, accruals, recharges and reporting processes
  • Assisting with internal and external audits and implementing recommendations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records, systems and reporting structures
  • Supporting procurement activity
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of finance systems and processes
  • Providing training and guidance to operational teams on financial procedures

About You

We’re keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Relevant finance experience
  • Completed or currently pursuing an accountancy qualification, AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA
  • Experience working in a finance or management accounting role
  • Strong Excel and financial systems experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines independently
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
  • Experience within education, public sector or not-for-profit environments
