Job Title: Mechanical Level 3 Light Vehicle Technician

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

Pay Rate: £18.11 per hour

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Level 3 Light Vehicle Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of light vehicles to ensure they meet safety, performance, and manufacturer standards. This role requires a qualified technician with strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to carry out both routine servicing and complex repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on light vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
  • Carry out repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and steering components.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and identify any additional work required.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard in line with manufacturer and company guidelines.
  • Complete job cards, service records, and relevant documentation accurately.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop procedures.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Work efficiently to meet productivity targets and deadlines.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of modern vehicle systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a vehicle technician in an automotive workshop is required.
  • Experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models is desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
  • Capability to lift and handle vehicle components safely.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Additional Requirements:

  • Full UK driving license is preferred.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
