Role: Practice Management Support Officer

Contract Length: 2 months (fixed, no extension)

Working Pattern: Hybrid (23.5 hours – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)

Location: Stratford-on-Avon (Elizabeth House)

Rate of Pay: £18 per hour via Umbrella


Purpose of the Role


Stratford-Upon-Avon District Council is seeking a Practice Management Support Officer to provide high-quality administrative and para-legal support across its shared Legal Services team (supporting both Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick District Councils).


This is a fast-paced, varied role where you’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth delivery of legal services by supporting senior leaders and the wider legal team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide efficient administrative and operational support to the Legal Services team
  • Assist with para-legal tasks including handling correspondence, maintaining legal files, and updating records
  • Manage document processes including scanning, filing, and document control
  • Support statutory processes, land and property enquiries, and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests
  • Liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers
  • Assist with financial administration including processing payments, raising accounts, and handling receipts
  • Support project work through meeting coordination, document preparation, and data gathering
  • Maintain accurate databases, records, and reporting systems
  • Provide front-line support by handling enquiries and welcoming visitors
  • Maintain office systems, supplies, and departmental resources


Candidate Requirements


  • Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in an office or administrative environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling data and documentation
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and general IT systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive, flexible, and customer-focused approach
  • Ideally experience within local government or the public sector (desirable)
  • Ability to attend the Stratford-on-Avon office when required
