A well-established and fast-growing organisation is looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join its central finance team based in Leeds. Reporting into the Financial Control team, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting month-end processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and contributing to management reporting and audit preparation. The role offers genuine development opportunities within a stable and expanding business.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Managing accruals and prepayments across multiple departments
• Supporting cost tracking and financial analysis activities
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity
• Assisting with account reconciliations and month-end/year-end close processes
• Liaising with internal stakeholders to gather and validate financial information
• Supporting compliance with financial controls, policies, and procedures
• Assisting with audit preparation and external reporting requirements

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will:

• Be AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA
• Have previous experience within a finance or accounting environment
• Possess strong Excel skills and good systems knowledge
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Be a confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
