We’re working with our client, a well-established recycling and waste processing business, who are looking to appoint a Maintenance Engineer to support the day-to-day running of their site in Rochester.

This is a hands-on role within a busy plant environment, ensuring equipment and machinery are operating safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance standards.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across plant and equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
  • Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime across the site
  • Work on conveyors, shredders, compactors and associated machinery
  • Support continuous improvement of plant performance and reliability
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed in line with health and safety standards
  • Liaise with contractors and support servicing and compliance activities
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience within a recycling, waste, manufacturing or process plant environment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault finding skills
  • Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics and conveyors
  • Basic PLC knowledge and fault finding capability
  • A hands-on, proactive approach to maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of health and safety within an industrial setting
