Summer Residence Assistant

• Hourly Rate: £12.71 

We are seeking a Summer Residence Assistant to join our team at the University of Leeds. This role is essential in supporting the residences to prepare for the new student intake in September. It is ideal for individuals who have lived in or have extensive experience working in our Halls of Residence. 

Day-to-Day of the Role: 

• Perform reception duties, manage queries and provide high-quality customer service to residents and visitors. 
• Participate in the setup of accommodations, ensuring all areas are ready and welcoming for incoming students. 
• Conduct routine checks and maintenance tasks such as flushing systems to ensure they are operational. 
• Assist in the preparation and execution of conference services within the residence halls. 
• Work flexibly across a range of tasks, adapting to the dynamic needs of university residences. 

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

• Previous experience or extensive knowledge of living or working in University of Leeds Halls of Residence. 
• Must be able to complete a basic DBS check (cost covered by the University of Leeds). 
• Flexibility to work 35 hours per week, between 08:00 – 20:00, across 5 days including weekends. 
• Ability to handle physical tasks involved in accommodation setup and maintenance. 
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on providing a welcoming environment. 
• Required to complete 'Fire Safety' and 'Manual Handling' training via the University's Minerva platform.
