Sample Department Assistant

Location: Chelsea 
Working Pattern: 5 days per week
Reporting to: Showroom Manager

Circa: £28K 

The Role

An established, design-led business is seeking a Sample Department Assistant to support the smooth day-to-day running of a busy showroom environment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong organisation skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach. You will play a vital role in supporting the sales team, managing samples, and maintaining exceptional showroom standards.

Key Responsibilities

Sampling

• Support account managers with sample requests before and after client meetings
• Order samples from mills via email and internal ordering systems
• Locate, pick and organise samples for orders
• Maintain organisation of the stockroom and sample department
• Cut, trim, relabel and chain samples as required

Post & Couriers

• Prepare outgoing mail using a franking machine
• Ensure post is delivered to the Post Room on schedule
• Book outgoing parcels with courier services (e.g. FedEx, DHL, TNT)

Rugs & Inventory

• Manage showroom inventory
• Wrap and prepare samples for delivery

Deliveries

• Receive, unpack and organise incoming deliveries
• Coordinate outgoing deliveries with courier partners

Showroom & Housekeeping

• Maintain the showroom to a consistently high standard
• Prepare and display new products for weekly product meetings
• Assist with stock records, running order and location registers
• Support general showroom tasks, including light maintenance, cleaning and tidying

About You

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Physically capable of assisting with lifting and moving stock
• Reliable, proactive and a strong team player
• Previous experience in a showroom, sample library or retail support role is advantageous, but not essential
