REED FE are currently seeking a qualified British Sign Language (BSL) Communication Support Worker (CSW) to support a young person in education. This role is ideal for someone passionate about providing essential communication support and enhancing the educational experience of students with hearing impairments.

BSL Communication Support Worker (CSW)

• Location: South London
• Job Type: Part-time, 3 days pw Term-time only
• Working Hours: Monday to Wednesday
• Start Date: ASAP

Day-to-day of the role of a BSL CSW :

• Provide BSL interpretation and support to a learner, ensuring they have full access to educational content.
• Work closely with educational staff to adapt materials and teaching methods to meet the learner's needs.
• Facilitate communication between the learner, peers, and teachers.
• Monitor and support the learner's progress and well-being within the educational setting.
• Maintain regular communication with teachers and parents to discuss the learner's development and any additional support needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in British Sign Language to level 3 or above 
• Experience as a Communication Support Worker or similar role within an educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of students with hearing impairments.
