An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Finance Assistant to join a high-performing finance team within a large and complex organisation.

This role is ideal for a part-qualified accountant looking to develop their career within management accounting, finance business partnering, and financial analysis. You will work closely with operational stakeholders, supporting budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, and financial decision-making across multiple departments.

If you have experience producing management accounts, analysing financial performance, and partnering with budget holders, this could be an excellent next step.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Deliver detailed variance analysis and financial commentary
  • Monitor income and expenditure against budgets
  • Provide finance business partnering support to operational managers
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes
  • Analyse financial performance and identify trends and risks
  • Produce ad-hoc financial analysis and management information
  • Support financial planning and decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
  • Work collaboratively across finance and operational teams
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience within a finance assistant, assistant management accountant, or management accounting role
  • Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent
  • Strong experience producing management reports and financial analysis
  • Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness and strong analytical ability
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Desirable Experience
  • Finance business partnering exposure
  • Experience within large or complex organisations
  • Process improvement and reporting enhancement experience
